Tottenham told to forget Jack Harrison and sign Leeds ‘underrated’ teammate instead – expert

Tottenham should forget Jack Harrison and sign Patrick Bamford instead.

That is according to Spurs insider John Wenham, who regularly breaks news about the club on his Lilywhite Rose social media channels.

According to The Telegraph‘s Mike McGrath (1 April), Spurs are interested in signing Harrison, 25, in the summer transfer window.

Leeds United

Antonio Conte’s side are said to have made an enquiry for the left-footer in the January window, with a view to converting him into a left-wing back.

However, Wenham insists Spurs should be looking to sign Bamford, 28, instead.

“It sounds like he’s going to be converted into a wing-back,” Wenham told Football Insider correspondent Ben Wild.

“We already have loads of those. Is he better than what we have? Maybe he is.

“If we were going to sign somebody from Leeds, he wouldn’t be in my top-three, to be honest.

“I really like Bamford, I like the idea of him as back-up for Kane. I think he’s quite underrated.

“He has a similar skill set in that he can bring other players into the game.

“If we were going to get anyone from Leeds, that’s what I would do but maybe Harrison could do a job at wing-back.”

Tottenham

Harrison has made 32 appearances in all competitions for Leeds United this season, scoring nine goals and providing two assists.

Bamford has struggled through a season ravaged by injury, making only nine appearances in the Premier League.
