Tottenham told to U-turn on Giovani Lo Celso after source’s £30m update – Robinson
Paul Robinson has urged Tottenham manager Antonio Conte to give Giovani Lo Celso “another chance.”
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the ex-White Hart Lane number one is adamant the 26-year-old is “a top player“ who has “a lot more to give.“
Lo Celso is excelling at Villarreal after moving to El Madrigal on loan in January.
A recruitment source told Football Insider (14 April) that Unai Emery’s side are opening talks with Spurs about signing the midfielder permanently.
Spurs are understood to be open to a deal with the player’s asking price believed to be around the £30million mark.
When asked for his thoughts on Lo Celso’s future, Robinson told Football Insider‘s Dylan Childs:
“It is difficult when a manager doesn’t fancy you and then lets you go two or three weeks into his time there.
“Lo Celso is a player that like. He has shown that he has defensive as well as attacking qualities. He isn’t afraid to stick a foot in and can play as a holding midfielder.

“I’m a big fan of his. You have to give Conte full control over his squad. He has been brought in to do a job. If he wants to move on Lo Celso you cannot question him.
“But I think he is a top player who has a lot more to give. For that reason I’d like to see him get given another chance at Spurs.”
