Tottenham transfer news: Major update on Timo Werner completing permanent move – sources
Tottenham are yet to make a final decision on signing on-loan forward Timo Werner permanently this summer, sources have told Football Insider.
The 28-year-old joined Spurs on a loan deal running until the end of the 2023-24 campaign in January.
It is believed the London club have the option to keep Werner full-time for a fee of around £15million, which is payable to parent club RB Leipzig.
A senior source has told Football Insider that the fee is seen as a potential “bargain” by club chiefs – who value his experience and versatility.
Werner has made nine appearances across all competitions for Tottenham since joining, notching two goals and two assists.
Sources say that the Germany international has settled in well at the club and is a well-liked member of Ange Postecoglou’s squad.

Werner has exclusively played as a left-winger so far during his time at Tottenham – but has previously led the line for Leipzig and Chelsea.
He left Stamford Bridge in 2022 to return to Leipzig after scoring 23 goals in 89 games for the Blues.
The 28-year-old has a better record in Germany’s Bundesliga, netting 102 goals in 257 outings.
Werner, who has also hit 24 goals in 57 senior Germany caps, is under contract at Leipzig until June 2026.

The Lilywhites could qualify for the Champions League in their current position if England is given a fifth spot in the competition for the 2024-25 campaign.
