Tottenham turn attention to Brighton ‘gem’ developing into a ‘PL star’ – expert

Tottenham have turned their attention to Facundo Buonanotte after he has impressed during his loan move at Leicester City.

Speaking on the latest edition of Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast, former Tottenham goalkeeper Paul Robinson believes that his former club are keeping close eyes on the attacking midfielder.

The 19-year-old is contracted to Brighton but is spending the season on loan with the Foxes to gain more regular playing time to aid his development.

Buonanotte has been impressing at Leicester, having scored three goals and provided two assists in his 10 games so far this season.

The Foxes are believed to be interested in signing him permanently after his loan period ends, but whether Brighton are willing to let him leave will remain to be seen.

“[He’s] been very impressive since his loan move from Brighton,” Robinson told Football Insider.

“I don’t see Brighton having any inclination of selling Buonanatte.

“Leicester, would be interested in signing him on a permanent basis.

“There’s been other big clubs who’ve been linked with him as well, the likes of Tottenham and Borussia Dortmund.

“But he just looks like another gem that Brighton have signed and one that they’re probably going to develop into a major Premier League star.

“Brighton are really winning out of this deal because he’s playing regularly for Leicester in the Premier League and he’ll just go back to Brighton as a better player.”
