‘Tottenham will accept £25m Son offer – it’s time for him to leave’

Tottenham would accept a £25million offer for Son Heung-min as now is the “time for him to leave” the club.

Football Insider revealed on 10 June Spurs chiefs could go over new boss Thomas Frank’s head and accept a “very lucrative” bid for Son

The winger turns 33 next month and is beginning to show signs of decline in the fast-paced English game.

The Spurs captain registered 11 goals and 12 assists in 46 appearances in the latest campaign.

Finance expert Stefan Borson exclusively told Football Insider a move to Saudi Arabia would make sense for Son this summer.

The South Korea international has one year left to run on his Tottenham contract after the club triggered an extension earlier this year.

Daniel Levy to make Son Heung-min exit decision

Borson insisted Daniel Levy would accept a £25million offer for Son from a Saudi club.

He told Football Insider“Clearly, he is a big cost.

“He’s probably the biggest earner. It’s a case of really how much contribution is he going to make next season? His contribution has been waning over the last couple of seasons.

“You would think that if they could get £25million out of Saudi, then that would make a lot of sense for Spurs.

“It’s the sort of deal that you would think Daniel Levy would want to do, and it would make a lot of sense for Son as well because the sort of money that he would get with the tax break would be very attractive.

“I think Spurs will just have to deal with the loss of the South Korean impact. I think they did sign a South Korean youngster last summer, just presumably to try and maintain some continuity with that attractiveness to the South Korean market.

“But I think it’s going to be the wrong way around if you’re paying Son just to stay, effectively to be a mascot for the South Korean market. I think that’s unlikely.

“From a footballing perspective, I think now could well be the time for him to leave. But probably it’s one of these where only Saudi could do that deal given his wages.

“The question is always with Saudi interest, is that something that the player would even contemplate?”

Tottenham could hijack Man United’s Bryan Mbeumo deal

In terms of a potential incoming, Football Insider revealed on 13 June Tottenham could hijack United’s move to sign Bryan Mbeumo following Frank’s appointment as manager.

The Dane’s arrival has added to the belief that Spurs could secure the Brentford star’s signature despite him previously preferring a move to Old Trafford.

Tottenham could be boosted by their Champions League qualification, while United have no European football to offer the Cameroon international for next season.
