‘Tottenham will make Ange Postecoglou sack decision’ after ‘Daniel Levy & board talks’
Tottenham boss Ange Postecoglou is facing increased sack pressure in north London despite a swathe of injuries in recent months.
Football Insider revealed on Monday (10 February) that Tottenham boss Postecoglou still has the backing of the board and club chiefs despite elimination from the League Cup and FA Cup in the last week.
Spurs have won five of their 11 games in 2025 so far but have emerged victorious in just one from five in the Premier League this year.
Everton’s former chief Keith Wyness – who served as CEO at Goodison Park between 2004 and 2009 and now runs a football consultancy advising elite clubs – has had his say on the Australian and Tottenham parting ways.
Tottenham fans are ’embarrassed’ as Wyness shares Postecoglou sack verdict
Speaking on the new edition of Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast, Wyness insisted he expects chairman Daniel Levy and the Spurs fans to stick with Postecoglou.
He suggested results will improve as more injured stars return to action – and that could be enough to keep him in a job until the end of the season.
However, the ex-Everton chief insisted there is no chance of Postecoglou making good on his promise to deliver silverware.
He told Football Insider‘s Insider Track podcast: “Look, there’s no way they’re going to win anything now.
“They’re out of the cups, it’s going to be very tough in Europe.
“Personally, I feel Daniel Levy and the board will stick with Ange.
“They’re giving a lot of credence to the injury situation, there’s a whole team out.
“It has been unusual.
“The fans will stick with Ange. A lot of Spurs fans I’ve spoken to are sympathetic with him to a degree. They’re embarrassed, but when they get players back they should see results pick up.
“That should be enough to save him.”

‘Two frontrunners’ for Tottenham job named
However, if Postecoglou is not the man to turn fortunes at Tottenham around – they will need to look for a replacement.
Wyness previously told Football Insider (12 February) that Brentford boss Thomas Frank and Bournemouth manager Andoni Iraola will be considered.
Both men are outperforming Spurs with their respective sides this season despite the huge disparity in budgets and squads.
