Tottenham will sign two forwards after Richarlison bid news – sources

Tottenham will sign a senior wide forward and a striker this summer as they continue to struggle in the absence of Harry Kane.

Speaking on the latest edition of Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast, senior correspondent Pete O’Rourke revealed that the club will look to strengthen their options in attack, with Ivan Toney, 28, named as a key target.

Spurs have been disappointed by the performances of Richarlison, 27, through the middle this season due to a lack of consistency.

While Son Heung-min, 31, has done a good job through the middle with 17 goals this season, some hit-and-miss performances have shown the club still need more options.

Football Insider reported that Spurs currently lead the race ahead of West Ham to sign Toney this summer.

Son’s goals have been vital to Tottenham but his role as a makeshift striker is not one the club sees as a long-term option with reinforcements set to arrive.

Richarlison, meanwhile, has scored 11 goals in 28 league appearances this season.

Football Insider revealed that Spurs could entertain offers of £60million for the Brazilian this summer in a bid to raise money for reinvesting and improving the squad.

Ange Postecoglou has been vocal about his displeasure at the level of his players and will demand improvement and incoming players in the transfer market.

Alongside a new striker, a wide forward will be targeted to provide competition to Son, Dejan Kulusevski and Brennan Johnson when Timo Werner’s loan deal expires.

In other news, talks have taken place at Spurs over the signing of Morgan Gibbs-White.
