‘Tottenham’s £5bn takeover deal set to be completed – watch this space’
Tottenham have long been linked with new investment but fans are now being told to “watch this space” with a deal potentially drawing closer.
Football Insider revealed last week (5 June) that Tottenham are edging closer to agreeing a deal to sell a stake in the club, which would be valued at a total of £5billion.
Spurs are open to investment with Qatari investors, ex-Newcastle chief Amanda Staveley, and US-based MSP Sports Capital among those linked with a part-takeover in recent months.
The north London club have been in talks with various consortiums for over a year and progress is believed to have been made behind the scenes in the last few weeks.
Everton’s former chief Keith Wyness – who served as CEO at Goodison Park between 2004 and 2009 and now runs a football consultancy advising elite clubs – has claimed that the deal will come sooner rather than later.

‘Tottenham set for imminent takeover’, says Wyness
Speaking on the new edition of Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast, Wyness said that Tottenham fans should “watch this space” as takeover rumours continue to swirl.
One potential problem is the valuation of majority owner ENIC, which is believed to have now leapfrogged to £5billion – nearly double the independent valuation of Forbes.
Wyness insists that a minority buyer could find that an acceptable figure if they take a part-stake in the club.
He told Football Insider‘s Inside Track podcast: “I think it’s going to come sooner rather than later in terms of the Spurs situation.
“That’s in terms of either a new majority buyer or a minority buyer.
“A minority buyer may value the club at five billion. If you bought 10%, that’s possible.
“I think it’s a unique situation with this new stadium though, and its cash generation, and so it may not be that comparable to many other clubs.
“Nevertheless, watch this space because I think the deal is coming pretty soon.”

Championship duo want Tottenham star
Meanwhile, Football Insider exclusively revealed that Birmingham City and West Brom have registered their interest in signing Tottenham sensation Mikey Moore.
The Midlands duo, who will play in next season’s Championship, are keeping close tabs on the 17-year-old forward.
Last season, the winger was handed three starts in the top-flight by Ange Postecoglou, featuring for a total of 1029 minutes in all competitions.
