Tottenham’s Archie Gray plan revealed – report

Tottenham are reportedly set to hand former Leeds United midfielder Archie Gray his first start since joining the club in the summer.

The 18-year-old has only played 29 minutes of football this season in cameo roles off the bench for Spurs, but he is now set to get some real game time.

According to GiveMeSport, Gray is in line to gain more minutes for Tottenham on Wednesday (18 September) against Coventry in the EFL Cup.

There is said to be a “serious possibility” of him being in the starting lineup for the midweek clash.

Gray joined Spurs from the West Yorkshire giants for £30million, but he has yet to break into Ange Postecoglou’s starting lineup.

However, the Spurs boss reportedly sees starting him against Coventry as a low-risk strategy.

Tottenham are ready to give Archie Gray an opportunity

Spurs want to secure Gray some regular playing time after working hard to land his signature in the summer.

The teenage sensation was a regular in Daniel Farke’s side last season for Leeds, making 52 appearances in all competitions.

That led to him making the jump to the Premier League as he committed his future at Tottenham until 2030.

Gray is traditionally a central midfielder, but he has the versatility to play as a right-back which opens further options for Postecoglou.

Tottenham will then face Brentford on Saturday (21 September) in the Premier League.
