Tottenham’s Richarlison reacts to Vini Jr message amid Palmeiras transfer update

Richarlison has reacted to a message from compatriot Vini Jr amid rumours of a move to Palmeiras.

The 28-year-old joined Tottenham from Everton in 2022 after an excellent spell with the Toffees that saw him notch 53 goals and 15 assists in 152 appearances across all competitions — proving key to helping them avoid the drop in 2021/22.

However, Richarlison’s move to North London has gone terribly.

Although the Brazil international has scored some important goals and has a decent record of 20 goals and 10 assists in 90 appearances, he’s been completely disrupted by injury and, ultimately, unable to hold down a starting spot.

As a result, Richarlison has been consistently linked with a move away from the Lilywhites.

Richarlison reacts to latest Vini Jr message

Despite his frustrating situation at Spurs, Richarlison took the time on Wednesday to drop a like to Brazil teammate Vini Jr’s latest Instagram post.

The Real Madrid star is back home in Rio after celebrating his 25th birthday on 12 July.

And to honour the two-time Champions League winner, Madame Tussauds have unveiled a waxwork statue depicting him in his Brazil kit.

Vinir Jr posted pictures of him posing with the statue on Instagram, drawing a like from Richarlison.

Richarlison Brazil return a ‘possibility’

While a return to Everton would be romantic, it’s Palmeiras who have emerged as the leading contender to sign Richarlison this summer.

The Brazilian giants have an increased budget this summer following their Club World Cup exploits and are reportedly willing to meet Tottenham’s £55million asking price for Richarlison.

South American football expert Tim Vickery revealed live on talkSPORT (17 July) that Richarlison has a realistic chance of returning to play in his homeland.

“The teams that have come back from the Club World Cup…they’ve got a lot of money, and so suddenly a move like this is a possibility. They’ve got all this money, but who can they persuade to come back?” he said.

“It’s very unlikely that they can do that with someone in their prime doing well in Europe, but that’s not really the case with Richarlison, is it? He might be up for it, so that’s a possibility…maybe they have just got a shot.”
