Tottenham’s Thomas Frank sack stance is now clear
Sacking Thomas Frank would not be the answer for Tottenham if they want to move forward as a club.
That is according to ex-Everton, Aston Villa, and Aberdeen chief executive Keith Wyness, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, who believes there are “many years of issues at Spurs” that need to be fixed.
Frank was adamant that he needs time at Spurs following their 3-0 defeat at Nottingham Forest, which leaves the north London club in the bottom half of the Premier League table.
Spurs fans have yet to be convinced by Frank, with the former Brentford boss criticised for his defensive style of play.
Thomas Frank has ‘proven’ that he can manage Tottenham
Everton’s former chief Keith Wyness – who served as CEO at Goodison Park between 2004 and 2009 and now runs a football consultancy advising elite clubs – believes Spurs need stability.
Speaking on the new edition of Football Insider‘s Inside Track podcast, Wyness is still backing Frank, but believes the January transfer window is pivotal for the Dane.
He told Football Insider‘s Inside Track podcast: “Well, yes, he does need time, and I was pleased to see that the Lewis family coming out and supporting him. I really don’t think there’d be any need at this stage to, if you’re looking at a real turnaround in Spurs, which is what’s going on, there’s many, many years of issues that have got to be resolved and stability in a manager is crucial to be done.
“I think he is the right one to do that. I still maintain that. I think Frank can do that, but I think there’s also been a lot of movement at the top level in Spurs. And so when you look at that, you’ve got to have a platform from the top to the bottom that is stable and moving forward.
“I think Frank’s proven that he can do the job. So I think he’s got to be given time. I think January is going to be an important window as well, because the squad is still not cohesive and it’s still not his squad. I think they’re still lacking upfront and there are a lot of things to be fixed. So definitely give him time.”

Tottenham star faces transfer move
Frank may be looking at replacing Guglielmo Vicario as his goalkeeper following a series of mistakes in recent matches.
Number two goalkeeper Antonin Kinsky is not seen as a replacement for Vicario at Spurs, with the 22-year-old seen as a future prospect.
Vicario was signed under previous manager Ange Postecoglou, and the Italian has kept 16 clean sheets in 78 Premier League appearances.
