Simon Mignolet has revealed how it has been difficult having Sadio Mane, Philippe Coutinho and Adam Lallana all missing games due to injuries or suspensions.
In an interview with Liverpool’s official website, the goalkeeper has shared that it is now exciting, that all three players are nearly fit enough to return, but shared that it had been hard for the side.
He said: “I think you have to deal with injuries throughout the season, you’re always going to have them, and that’s why you have a broad squad to deal with that.
“But if you have three of those kind of players injured at the same time, then it’s obviously a tough thing to deal with.”
Mignolet has featured 12 times for Liverpool this season, conceding 20 goals and keeping three clean sheets.
The goalkeeper has been at the Reds since 2013, after he moved from Sunderland.
Mane has featured 10 times for Liverpool this season, grabbing three goals and four assists.
The Senegal international missed two leagues games due to a suspension earlier in the season, as he received a red card against Manchester City.
The striker has recently missed five games, three league games, due to a hamstring injury.
Mane did make his return to the side in the Reds’ last game, a 4-1 victory against West Ham.
Coutinho has made nine appearances across all competitions this season, scoring four goals and registering three assists.
The Brazilian international missed Liverpool’s last two league games due to an injury, and he had already suffered a spell on the sideline at the start of the season due to a back injury.
Lallana has yet to make an appearance for the Reds this season, with a hamstring injury currently keeping him out of action.
