Medical passed: North-west club agree to sign Everton colossus - Sources

Everton defender Morgan Feeney has passed a medical at Tranmere Rovers as he puts the finishing touches to a late-window move, Football Insider understands.

The 20-year-old is set to join the League One club on loan for the rest of the season.

An Everton source has told Football Insider that the terms of the deal for Feeney have been settled with Tranmere and an announcement is imminent.

It will mean the 6ft 3in centre-back making a short journey across Merseyside for the first loan of his career.

Feeney has come through the youth ranks at Everton and is a regular in the club’s Under-23s side.

He has captained the age-group side for the last couple of seasons and has made 12 Premier League 2 appearances in the current campaign.

Feeney made his first-team debut against Atalanta in the Europa League in 2017 and was handed his full debut in another Europa League tie against Apollon Limassol.

The powerful defender has recovered from a serious knee injury which held up his progress at Goodison Park.

Feeney is well down the pecking order in Carlo Ancelotti’s first-team plans and the club are happy for him to go out on loan to get valuable first-team experience under his belt.

Tranmere are third from bottom of League One and the club see Feeney as a key addition to his backline as he looks to steer them to safety in the second half of the season.
