Trent Alexander-Arnold cannot ‘hide away from the facts’ at Liverpool after intriguing reveal – pundit
Paul Robinson has insisted Liverpool full-back Trent Alexander-Arnold cannot “hide away” from his defensive responsibilities.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former Spurs and England number one suggested the 24-year-old is “working hard” behind the scenes to improve that side of his game.
Alexander-Arnold has been heavily criticised for his performances for the Reds this season.

Speaking to GQ magazine (11 October), the right-backed explained how he “never likes to play the position” and instead plays the game in front of him.
The England international added that playing a position is “like playing with shackles on”.
When asked by Football Insider if Alexander-Arnold’s stance on position explains his defensive shortcomings, Robinson said: “It is interesting to hear him say that.
“Offensively, there is no question whatsoever. Defensively, there is flaws though.
“In previous seasons his defensive frailties have been covered by other players. This season he is not getting the cover from the midfield.
“There is no hiding away from the fact that Liverpool have been exposed on many occasions down that side. There is a weakness there.
“It is something that Trent will be working hard at. The modern day footballer has to have a good all-round game.”

Speaking to GQ magazine, Alexander-Arnold said: “I never like to play the position, I play the game.
“You play the position, it limits you. It’s like playing with shackles on.”
