‘Trent Alexander-Arnold could make sensational Liverpool U-turn’
Trent Alexander-Arnold could make a sensational U-turn to remain at Liverpool amid growing uncertainty at Real Madrid.
That is according to former Man United and Blackburn chief scout Mick Brown, who remains very well-connected within the game, as he exclusively told Football Insider that Carlo Ancelotti’s likely departure has thrown a spanner in the works.
As a result, the 26-year-old is believed to be asking questions and having second thoughts about the move given the role Ancelotti played in selling it to him.
This comes after Football Insider revealed in October that Ancelotti was pushing Madrid to sign Alexander-Arnold as their latest “Galactico” addition.
While Alexander-Arnold is still expected to join Real Madrid, the deal has yet to be signed and there is still a chance he could decide not to leave.
The right-back is also under pressure from fans and the club to stay at Anfield.

Trent Alexander-Arnold having second thoughts on Liverpool exit
Brown told Football Insider in November that Alexander-Arnold would join Real Madrid, having already decided to quit Liverpool upon the expiry of his contract.
Now, the former scout who has a wealth of experience in top-level player recruitment after over a decade at Man United during their most successful period, has suggested the right-back may be put off of the move after Ancelotti’s exit.
“I think there’s a chance he stays at Liverpool,” he told Football Insider.
“It’s gone on throughout the season, there’s been so much talk, but it’s not signed yet.
“There’s definitely something in the fact that Carlo Ancelotti might be leaving Real Madrid.
“That might give Trent a reason to question his decision whether he goes or he doesn’t.
“It looks to me like Madrid are entering a rebuilding phase, and that will cause uncertainty for Trent Alexander-Arnold because he might not fit under a new manager.
“He knew Ancelotti from his time on Merseyside and that played a big part in the interest.
“All of a sudden, this twist has been thrown in at the last minute, so he’ll be asking questions and perhaps having second thoughts.
“The possibility is there that he might, under pressure from fans and from the club, stay at Liverpool.“

Ibrahima Konate update emerges after Real Madrid twist
As speculation continues over the future of Alexander-Arnold, Real Madrid have also set their sights on signing a second Liverpool star.
Football Insider revealed on 18 April that Real Madrid want to sign Ibrahima Konate and are prepared to rival the likes of PSG for his signature.
Sources say Madrid are “very interested” in the 25-year-old while PSG could make a move to tempt him to return to his native France.
This comes after Football Insider revealed in March that Konate could leave Liverpool if they cannot reach an agreement over his contract in a last-ditch effort to raise funds.
