‘Trent Alexander-Arnold is staying at Liverpool’ – fans explode
Trent Alexander-Arnold made the difference for Liverpool against Leicester as Arne Slot’s side close in on the Premier League title.
The Reds stand on the very brink of their 20th top-flight title and only their second-ever Premier League crown, sitting 13 points clear of second-placed Arsenal with just five games left to play this campaign.
Alexander-Arnold could be playing his last five games as a Liverpool player amid speculation over his future, with Football Insider reporting that his contract with Real Madrid already is signed and sealed.
Football Insider revealed on 18 April that Real Madrid also want Ibrahima Konate to join Alexander-Arnold at the Bernabeu, but as things stand, it’s still unclear where the latter will be playing next season.
Virgil van Dijk and Mohamed Salah have committed their futures to Liverpool by signing new contracts, and despite the uncertainty over Alexander-Arnold’s future, Slot and his side are ready for the next step.

Alexander-Arnold goal the culmination of Liverpool career
Liverpool struggled to break down a Leicester defence which was uncharacteristically solid for the first 75 minutes, repelling wave after wave of attack as Slot’s side produced 28 shots, with 10 on target.
Leicester | Statistics | Liverpool |
0 | Goals | 1 |
0.25 | xG | 2.62 |
0 / 5 | Shots on Target | 10 / 28 |

Slot bringing on Alexander-Arnold for his long-touted successor Conor Bradley proved to be the ace in the pack for the Reds, with Liverpool’s number 66 scoring the game’s only goal just five minutes later.
Alexander-Arnold sparked pandemonium in the King Power Stadium’s away end, as the 26-year-old tore off his red shirt and slid in to celebrate his goal in front of the Liverpool fans – for potentially the last time.

Liverpool fans beg for Alexander-Arnold U-turn after Leicester goal
The outpouring of grief following the news that Alexander-Arnold would sign for Real Madrid wasn’t pretty, with Chris Sutton taking aim at Liverpool fans for their criticism of Anfield’s long-time right-back.
However, the mood has swung rapidly in the wake of his emotional celebrations at Leicester, with some Reds fans of the belief that he is “going nowhere” after scenes which showed that “this is his club”.
Wayne Rooney suggested that until Alexander-Arnold is pictured in a Real Madrid kit signing a contract, he could yet stay at Anfield, and fans who criticised him are now of the hope that he makes a U-turn himself.
Please stay, Trent. I beg you.

If Trent U turns and ends up staying everything I’ve said about him is irrelevant and all is forgiven, he can have a whole bus to himself at the parade
