Trent Alexander-Arnold is ‘unhappy’ at Liverpool after Arne Slot clash – expert
Everton’s former chief Keith Wyness has suggested Trent Alexander-Arnold is “unhappy” at Liverpool as rumours swirl about his future at the club.
Speaking on the new edition of Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast, the 66-year-old – who served as CEO at Goodison Park between 2004 and 2009 and now runs a football consultancy advising elite clubs – claimed the defender’s “body language” during an on-pitch clash with Arne Slot could stem from a rejected bid from long-term suitors Real Madrid.
Alexander-Arnold looked visibly dissatisfied after being substituted on 73 minutes during the 2-0 win over Brentford.
He gave Slot the cold shoulder when exiting the pitch and looked disheartened on the bench for the remainder of the game.
The England international has less than 12 months on his contract at Liverpool and has been widely linked with a move to Real Madrid in recent years.
‘Something‘s going on’ with Alexander-Arnold at Liverpool, says Wyness
Wyness suggested a move to the Spanish capital would make sense for Alexander-Arnold.
He told Football Insider‘s Insider Track podcast: “All the signs, the rumours and the body language have suggested this could be the end for Trent at Liverpool.
“But it’s a difficult one.
“Something would have happened by now if it was going to go through this summer.
“I can understand the links with Real Madrid.
“But here we are with a day to go and nothing’s happened.

“Trent doesn’t seem happy, so something may have been turned down or there’s a negotiation going on.
“I’ve got no inside track, but it does seem like something is going on.”
