Trent Alexander-Arnold sends message to Liverpool fans after Real Madrid news
Liverpool defender Trent Alexander-Arnold has taken to social media to share images from their 3-1 Premier League win over Leicester after reportedly telling the club he wants to join Real Madrid.
According to Spanish outlet Marca, the 26-year-old has told his boyhood club that he has his heart set on a move to Real Madrid and won’t be signing a new deal.
Alexander-Arnold is one of three key Liverpool players, alongside Mohamed Salah and Virgil van Dijk, who are out of contract at the end of the season.
Arne Slot has worked wonders since replacing Jurgen Klopp in the summer despite the ongoing contract issues, guiding Liverpool to the top of both the Premier League and the Champions League league phase.
Liverpool took full advantage of Chelsea’s 2-1 defeat to Fulham in an earlier Boxing Day fixture to extend their lead at the top.
The home side took a surprise lead through Jordan Ayew after just six minutes before Cody Gakpo scored the equaliser just ahead of half-time.
Curtis Jones then put Liverpool ahead in his 100th Premier League appearance for the club before Salah secured all three points.

Alexander-Arnold isn’t giving much away regarding his future, however, taking to Instagram after the win over Leicester to share an image from the game.
Liverpool have one game left in 2024 as they travel to East London to take on West Ham on Sunday (December 29).
Slot’s side will then kick off 2025 with a bang, hosting Ruben Amorim’s struggling Man United side in their first game of the new year.
