
Trevoh Chalobah excellent, Cole Palmer anonymous – Chelsea ratings in Everton win
Chelsea have given their Champions League qualification hopes a boost with a vital victory over Everton at Stamford Bridge.
Enzo Maresca‘s side went into this game looking to build on their last minute win over Fulham at Craven Cottage last time out.
They would take a 1-0 lead over the Toffees in at half time following an excellent finish from Nicolas Jackson 27 minutes into the game.
Despite some late pressure from Everton, that was enough to secure all three points for the hosts, moving them up to fourth in the Premier League table.

Robert Sanchez – 7
Sanchez has come under fire from Chelsea fans for his performances and had yet more nervy moments here, but did make some impressive and important saves which got better as the game went on.
Moises Caicedo – 7
Started at right-back before moving into central midfield. As reliable as ever for Chelsea in both positions.

Trevoh Chalobah – 9 – Player of the Match
Chalobah continues to impress since returning to Chelsea from his loan at Crystal Palace. This was an excellent performance, shutting down attacks and won possession to start the move the led to the goal.
Levi Colwill – 7
Not as eye-catching as his central defensive partner but still made some decent defensive contributions.
Marc Cucurella – 6
A steady performance but not one where he exerted a huge amount of significant influence on the game.
Romeo Lavia (off for James, ’67) – 7
Lavia has had a torrid season with injuries at Chelsea, but made a solid return to action from the start after injury.

Enzo Fernandez – 7
Got the assist for the opener with his pass into Jackson, continues to be an important presence in the centre of the park.
Noni Madueke (off for Sancho, ’78) – 8
An outstanding performance. Constantly caused problems for the Everton defence with some dangerous runs and movement. Produced an excellent save from Pickford with a vicious strike.
Cole Palmer (off for Dewsbury-Hall, ’90+1) – 4
Palmer is enduring a difficult spell at Chelsea, and this was yet another game where he simply didn’t get involved of pose a threat to Everton.

A really good afternoon. Looked a big threat going forward out wide and made some important defensive contributions as well.
Nicolas Jackson – 7
Took his goal really well after a long spell without one, and worked hard despite getting very little service otherwise.
