Trevoh Chalobah sends new ‘three years’ Chelsea message
Trevoh Chalobah has taken to Instagram with a post to mark the anniversary of a major moment in his career with Chelsea.
Chalobah recently returned to Chelsea from Crystal Palace after spending the first half of this season on loan with the Premier League rivals.
Prior to that, the centre-back had spent the last three seasons as part of the Blues’ senior side, after past loan spells in the Football League with the likes of Ipswich and Huddersfield, as well as Lorient in France.
During that time, he had enjoyed some significant success with Chelsea, and the 25-year-old has been reminiscing about what may be one of the standout moments of his time with the club so far.
Trevoh Chalobah reflects on historic trophy win
Wednesday (12 February) marked the three-year anniversary of the Stamford Bridge club winning the final of the FIFA Club World Cup.
Chelsea had qualified for the competition following their UEFA Champions League victory the season before.
They then earned the right to call themselves world champions after a 2-1 victory over Brazilian side Palmeiras in the world final, after extra time.

Goals from Romelu Lukaku and Kai Havertz, the latter from the penalty spot, had been enough to secure victory for what was then Thomas Tuchel‘s side in that final in Abu Dhabi.
Chalobah was an unused substitute in that match, but was understandably still keen to reflect on such a significant moment.
On his Instagram story, the Chelsea defender posted a picture of himself holding a trophy and medal while wearing his full kit from the game, along with the caption “Three years ago today!”.

Football Insider Verdict
Much has been made of the level of transfer business done at Stamford Bridge in recent years, and this proves the extent of that.
Other than Chalobah, the only players who were part of the Chelsea matchday squad for that final win who are still tied to the club are substitute goalkeeper Marcus Bettinelli and Kepa Arrizabalaga.

Of course, the latter of those is currently on loan from Bournemouth, although current boss Enzo Maresca may be pleased that is not the case for his centre-back.
Chalobah has produced a number of impressive performances since returning to Chelsea, proving to be an important member of the squad.
Meanwhile, the club’s success in this period means they will compete in the new revamped Club World Cup in the summer.
But with suggestions Chelsea fans are yet to fully buy into that tournament it will be interesting to see how much significance it takes on for Chalobah and co. at the end of a long hard season.
