Trevor Sinclair raves about talented Everton teenage attacker

By Derek Smithson

Trevor Sinclair has labelled Everton youngster Ademola Lookman as an “exceptional player” following his performance in the Under-20s World Cup final.

The 19-year-old attacker helped England win the World Cup at youth level with a 1-0 victory over Venezuela on Sunday.

The tricky winger has also impressed at club level following his January move from Charlton to Goodison Park.

He made an immediate impact in Ronald Koeman’s first team and made eight senior appearances for the Toffees.

Sinclair raved about the qualities of Lookman following his World Cup display and has tipped him for a bright future.

“Ademola Lookman looks to have it all,” Sinclair said, as quoted by Get West London. “His agility, his pace, his balance, he is an exceptional player and is very talented.

“He has learned a lot with Charlton Athletic in the Championship and then with Everton in the Premier League.”

Lookman predominately operates in the wide areas, but can also be used in a more central attacking position if needed.

The teenager is one of several Everton players included in the England Under-20 set-up and there is a strong contingent of homegrown players at the Merseyside club.

He will hope for more first team chances next year under Koeman and will be looking to force his way into the starting line-up.

Lookman has just one goal so far for the Premier League side, but that came in dramatic fashion as he netted on his debut in a 4-0 win over Manchester City.
