Leeds suffered a friendly defeat in their pre-season friendly against La Liga side Eibar on Sunday evening in Austria, as the Spanish side edged past the Yorkshire giants with a 4-2 win.

Thomas Christiansen’s side struggled to gain a foothold in the match as the likes of Chris Wood, Pontus Jansson and Ronaldo Vieira were overshadowed by Eibar’s impressive retention of the ball.

Eibar were lethal in front of goal in the first half, but it was Leeds who took the scruff of the match by the neck in the second half, with Chris Wood and Ezgjan Alioski scoring.

Leeds have played against the likes of Borussia Monchengladbach and FC Ingolstadt over in Austria and will now return to England to face Pep Clotet’s Oxford before starting the 2017-18 campaign.

Football Insider rates the three players to have performed the best despite the heavy loss, which will come as an eye opener to manager Christiansen.
