Stan Collymore has slammed Aston Villa for their lacklustre display in the 3-0 loss at Cardiff on Sunday.
A Nathaniel Mendez-Laing brace and a Junior Hoillet goal saw the Bluebirds compile further misery on manager Steve Bruce, who has seen his side pick up just one point in their opening two Championship fixtures
Former Villa attacker Collymore suggested that it was the same old thing from Villa on Saturday as they were bettered by a Cardiff team that aren’t expected to pull up any trees in the second-tier this term.
“Villa. Absolute ******* tripe again,” said the ex-England international on his personal Twitter account on Saturday.
Out of Villa’s first three matches of the season, they are yet to show any convincing signs of making any progress towards securing promotion back to the Premier League.
They were held to a 1-1 draw by Hull in their opening fixture of the season and were less than dominant against Colchester in their 2-1 Carabao Cup win earlier this week.
Although there has only been two matches played, the West Midlands side are 21st in the table and are the lowest placed team to have picked up any points so far.
They can make amends on Tuesday night, but face a testing trip to fellow promotion chasers Reading, but Villa could be boosted in knowing that the Royals have had an equally poor start to the season.
In other Aston Villa news, one of their Championship rivals are eyeing up this 25-year-old.
