Rangers boss Pedro Caixinha has named his starting XI to face Partick Thistle – and fans are delighted to see Carlos Pena finally make his first start for the club.
Pena moved to Rangers for £2.2million from Chivas Guadalajara over the summer but has struggled with fitness since his arrival.
The 19-times capped Mexico international has been restricted to appearances from the substitutes bench so far but has been given a chance to show what he can do from the start tonight.
Pena is one of three changes to the Rangers starting XI from Friday’s 2-2 draw with Partick as Jak Alnwick and Declan John also come in to replace Wes Foderingham and Lee Wallace.
Some Rangers fans have been sceptical of Pena’s signing, however, the Light Blues’ support are happy to see their new man start.
Here are some of their comments on Twitter:

With Celtic the visitors to Ibrox on Saturday, Pena starting tonight will be a big boost to Caixinha as he faces a number of injuries in his squad,
Niko Kranjcar and Jordan Rossiter are both missing tonight’s Scottish League Cup tie and are both doubts for the weekend so Pena has a real chance to stake a claim for a starting place against Brendan Rodgers’ side with a solid performance against Thistle.
Pena has already scored his first goal for the club, netting in the 4-1 win over Dundee and Rangers’ biggest summer signing will need to put in a performance after coming in from stick from some of the Rangers support.
The attacking midfielder should start playing just off striker Alfredo Morelos and will be hoping to strike up a good relationship with the Colombian if Morelos is to keep up his prolific start to his Ibrox career.
In other Rangers team news, Chris Sutton has destroyed a midfielder for his display during Friday’s draw against Partick Thistle.
