Twitter reacts to Everton ace nearing new contract deal, approaching 10 years on Merseyside

Leighton Baines is set to be offered a new contract by Everton and fans have taken to Twitter to give their reaction to the news.
The defender has enjoyed nine successful seasons at the club, and has been named their Player of the Season on two seperate occasions. The star’s new deal could take him past a decade of service to the Merseyside outfit.
The Liverpool Echo reported that Baines will begin negotiations with Everton over a new contract in the near future.

Baines has clearly got a lot of support from Toffee fans and despite still having three years remaining on his current contract, the player will be offered the chance to commit his long-term future to the club.

The defender has been an ever-present in the Everton team since joining Goodison Park, and has been named in the Premier League PFA Team of the Year twice after his consistent performances at full-back.
Baines recently welcomed the competition from youngsters Brendan Galloway and Luke Garbutt for a starting spot next season, although the fan-favourite can be expected to maintain his place under new manager Ronald Koeman.
The left-back joined the Merseyside club in 2007 after agreeing a £6million deal from Wigan, and has made over 300 appearances during his stay.
Everton start their Premier League campaign against Tottenham on 13 August and the first Merseyside clash with Liverpool is in December.
