Two more Ibrox first teamers may be sold after Patterson amid £23.5m reveal – Rangers TV pundit

Alan Hutton has suggested Nathan Patterson’s impending move to Everton may not prevent Rangers from cashing in on Joe Aribo or Alfredo Morelos this month.

The former Gers defender and Rangers TV pundit, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, insisted every player has a price at Ibrox after the club announced losses of £23.5million back in November.

As revealed by Football Insider today (4 January), Patterson is set to sign a £28,000-a-week deal to complete a £12million switch to Everton.

The value of the deal could rise to £16million in performance-related add-ons.

Hutton insisted the money offered was too good to turn down.

However, he admitted Patterson’s sale may not be enough for Rangers to turn down other big-money bids.

“Obviously, when you see last year’s losses I think it was around £23million. The thought of bringing in £12million-plus eases that,” Hutton told Football Insider’s Russell Edge.

“You might not have to sell some of your other top players. However, I’ve always said that if a fee comes in for Rangers or Celtic players that are too good to turn down, that’s exactly what’s happened. They will leave.

“It’s probably a worrying month for Van Bronckhorst. You see the likes of teams looking at Aribo and Morelos. If fees are big enough, I think they will go as well.

“That being said, if Van Bronckhorst can get the money to reinvest in the squad, it can be a win-win.”

Rangers

Patterson is set to take Hutton’s record as the most expensive player sale in Rangers’ history.

The 20-year-old has just 15 starts in 27 appearances for Rangers under his belt.
