Two Rangers stars set to leave after source’s reveal – expert

Alan Hutton has insisted it is time for Josh McPake and Kai Kennedy to leave Rangers.

Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former Gers defender said the pair have missed their chance to break into the first team.

On 23 January, Football Insider revealed that Queen’s Park and Gateshead are in a race to sign 21-year-old McPake.

The striker has been thriving on loan at Queen’s Park and the Scottish Championship leaders have registered their interest in a permanent deal.

The Ibrox club are willing to let go of the striker on a permanent deal after multiple loan spells in recent years.

This site also revealed (23 January), that two US clubs have joined the race to sign Kennedy, 20.

They join Dundee in the race to land the youngster who is currently on loan at Falkirk and likely to be recalled.

Kennedy has spent the last two years on various loan spells to clubs including Inverness, Raith Rovers and Hamilton Academical.

When asked if Rangers should be looking to youngsters to fill gaps in the current squad, Hutton told Football Insider:I think you always want to see that.

You look at the likes of [Adam] Devine who is in and about the squad at the moment. Beale obviously wants to bring young talent through.
