Scott Bain has made it clear that he wants his loan move from Dundee to Celtic to be made into a permanent deal, and it would be a perfect bit of business by the Hoops to make this happen.
The 26-year-old has been excellent for the Bhoys in his two starts for the club since he replaced Dorus de Vries in goals, making vital saves against both Rangers and Motherwell and he is set to start against Ross County on Saturday.
Bain has revealed that he wants to get his future sorted sooner rather than later, with the Daily Record reporting that the player is desperate to stay long-term with the Hoops.
The player’s wishes may be granted as Brendan Rodgers revealed, as reported by STV, that he is set to speak to Bain about signing a permanent deal with the Hoops.
This would be a great bit of business to start off the Hoops for the summer, as Bain has already shown in only two games that he is far more dependable than de Vries.
Bain seems to be a more than capable deputy for number one goalkeeper Craig Gordon, and if he keeps up his good form, there is no guarantee that Gordon will get his place back for the remainder of the season.
The Hoops haven’t had two dependable goalkeepers for a number of years, but if Bain signs a permanent deal they certainly will.
