The news that teenage centre-back Kristoffer Ajer has signed a new deal with Celtic is a move that will delight the club’s supporters, and it is one of the Bhoys’ best bits of transfer business in years.
The 19-year-old agreed a new four year deal with the Hoops, as announced on the club’s official Twitter account a short time ago.

Ajer has been superb for the Hoops since becoming a regular in the first-team following the 4-0 defeat to Hearts in December, and he seems like a player that the Hoops can build their first-team around for many years to come.
So good has his form been that the player recently made his debut for the Norwegian national side, and he looks set to be a mainstay of that team for years.
The centre-back partnership of Ajer and Dedryck Boyata seems to be the one favoured by Hoops boss Brendan Rodgers, but with doubts about Boyata’s long-term future at the club it may only last until the end of the season.
At least Ajer has been tied down for the long-term and it is a great bit of business by the Hoops. as no doubt many teams will have watched the player this season and been impressed by how confident and assured he has been for such a young player.
With Kieran Tierney and Scott Bain also signing new deals this season, the Hoops look to be building the spine of their team for many years to come.
The Hoops have been looking for a dominant centre-back for years, and now they finally have one they won’t be letting him go on the cheap.
