Tyrell Malacia’s move to Turkey hits a road block with Manchester United facing costly blow
Manchester United look set to struggle to move on one star as the end of the Turkish transfer window creeps closer.
Ruben Amorim has been a man under scrutiny in recent weeks, particularly following his side’s Carabao Cup exit at the hands of Grimsby Town.
A win at home against Burnley eased the pressure on the Portuguese head coach but one stumble could lead to questions mounting on Amorim once again.
One thing fans can’t critique Amorim on is his ability to sell players, moving on four key members of his ‘bomb squad’ in the transfer window.

Having sanctioned Alejandro Garnacho’s £40 million move to Chelsea, as well as Andre Onana’s loan move to Trabzonspor, Amorim looks set on showing Tyrell Malacia the exit door too.
Malacia was set to join Spanish La Liga side Elche on deadline day but the move collapsed, with a move to Turkey’s Eyüpspor now in the pipeline.
However, according to talkSPORT’s Alex Crook, that deal may also be in jeopardy with Malacia reportedly not keen on the move.
Crook took to X (formerly Twitter) to say: Malacia not overly keen by all accounts [on the move to Eyüpspor.
“Another player lucky to jump on the Manchester United gravy train and determined to cling on.”
Andre Onana’s departure signals the birth of a new age under Ruben Amorim
Man United have always struggled to sell players, and as Amorim entered the final week of the transfer with four of the five members of his ‘bomb squad’ still at Carrington, the Portuguese must have been fearing the worst.
However, fast-forward a week and four of the five ‘bomb squad’ members are gone, along with two additional assets who were deemed as disposable.

Amorim has cut a frustrated figure with the players available at his disposal at Old Trafford, and that frustration has lead to a clinical and cut-throat sales policy.
Rasmus Hojlund, Anthony and Garnacho were all sold for deals that could involve fees worth up to £110m while Onana, Marcus Rashford and Jadon Sancho are all off the wage bill.
If on-pitch performance improves, Amorim’s dealings in the transfer window have shown there is life yet in Man United.
