Tyrique George has a future at Everton – his stats vs Brentford prove there is more to come

Tyrique George has struggled to find his feet at Everton since arriving on a six-month loan from Chelsea during the winter window.

The 20-year-old has the opportunity to earn a permanent move away from Stamford Bridge at the end of the season, should the Toffees be impressed by his performances on Merseyside.

Having come into David Moyes’ team halfway through the season, it has been difficult for the young winger to force his way into the lineup, starting just one single Premier League game so far.

Everton’s transfer plans could change drastically depending on their finish in the league standings, but should they end in a European spot, George may be pushing for a move to the Hill Dickinson Stadium.

Tyrique George takes Brentford chance with both hands

George came on just moments before Igor Thiago grabbed his second goal of the game, but instead of heads dropping at the Gtech Community Stadium on Saturday, 11 April, players stepped up.

Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall amended for an earlier missed chance with a 91st-minute equaliser, keeping the Toffees within two points of the top-five spots.

While Chelsea’s loanee didn’t manage to get on the scoresheet or even register an assist, he caused plenty of chaos during his limited time on the pitch, helping push Moyes’ side up the pitch.

He also made a complete fool out of Brenford’s Michael Kayode during one of his meandering runs, and while the club are still waiting for his first goal contributions, there are promising signs.

Everton face a tough decision over Chelsea loanee

Everton had beaten Sunderland to George’s signature during the winter transfer window, and the winger has since divided opinion at the Hill Dickinson Stadium.

Much like Tyler Dibling and Carlos Alcaraz, who are all in Jack Grealish’s shadow, the loanee has been given limited chances to prove himself, but it seems too soon to decide on his future.

Liam Rosenior’s scouts will also be keeping a close eye on their player, so it might be that his parent club want to keep him once the summer rolls around, but the Toffees could very well take a chance on him.

There are still six games remaining for the loanee to have as much impact as possible, and Moyes might be willing to take a chance on him following his cameo against Brentford.
