Tyrone Mings responds to Marco Asensio’s Aston Villa future hint
Aston Villa defender Tyrone Mings has responded to Marco Asensio’s message as the man on loan from PSG hinted at where his future could lie.
Since joining the Villa Park side on loan from PSG, Asensio has performed well, scoring eight goals in 21 appearances across all competitions.
But the former Real Madrid man’s efforts were not enough to help seal Champions League qualification after Villa’s controversial 2-0 defeat to Manchester United.
The West Midlands outfit were left furious that Morgan Rogers was adjudged to have fouled Man United goalkeeper Altay Bayindir before putting the ball in the back of the net while the score was still 0-0.

Mings responds as Asensio makes future admission via social media
Asensio’s most recent goal for Unai Emery’s men came during a 2-0 victory over Brighton on 2 April in which he also created an assist.
While the attacking midfielder’s loan spell in the West Midlands has come to an end, the Spain international took to Instagram [26 May] as he wrote: “A big thank you for this season!
“I’ve felt at home since day one and had very special moments, grateful to be part of this team.
“We left everything on the field to fight for the club’s objectives. Proud of the effort. Looking forward to what’s ahead.”
Asensio’s sentiment that he looks forward to what’s ahead could be a hint that he may join Villa permanently, while Mings commented on the post with a purple heart emoji.
Football Insider verdict
Asensio would be a great acquisition for Villa
The fact that Villa missed out on Champions League qualification could damage their chances of recruiting as well as Emery would have liked in the summer transfer window.

Missing out on a top-five spot makes the West Midlands outfit a less attractive destination than if they had managed to book their place in European football’s most prestigious club competition once again.
Meanwhile, Villa will now have greater PSR concerns than they would have had if they managed to seal Champions League qualification.
But Asensio’s Instagram admission could show that the Spaniard is keen on agreeing permanent terms in the West Midlands, while such a deal would be a success for Emery’s men if they have the financial means to complete the move.
Asensio is a very high-calibre player who helped Madrid win three Champions League titles, and such experience at the highest level could be invaluable for Villa moving forward.
