‘Unbelievable’ – Agbonlahor on Man United signing Victor Osimhen after £133m bid news
Gabby Agbonlahor has claimed Man United will be “wary” of spending more than £100million on Napoli star Victor Osimhen this summer.
The former Aston Villa striker, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, claimed a deal is “dangerous” as the 24-year-old has “only done it for one season”.
Sources told this site last week (24 April) that Chelsea’s financial issues have handed Man United a huge boost in their pursuit of Napoli star Osimhen – with both sides keen to bring him to the Premier League.
However, Football Insider has also detailed interest from Paris Saint-Germain (21 April) – who are lining up a titanic £133million bid this summer.
Osimhen has scored 26 goals in 33 games for Napoli this season with the Italian side chasing their first Scudetto win since 1990.
The Nigeria international’s contract at Stadio Diego Armando Maradona runs until June 2025.
He has broken the 20-goal barrier in a season for the first time in his career – having failed to do so during spells at Lille, Wolfsburg and Charleroi.
Agbonlahor told Football Insider’s Ewan Kingsbury: “I do like him, but he’s only done it for one season.
“It’s dangerous when you’re going and buying players who have only been outstanding for a short amount of time.
“I can tell you that the Premier League is a much tougher league than Serie A, and Man United will be wary of paying silly money for him.

“Napoli are going to want over £100million for him.
“It’s difficult because so many sides in England need strikers but to get the best ones, it’s going to really dent the finances, it’s an unbelievable sum.”
