Man United fans were left stunned by what they saw from Patrick Dorgu during their pre-season clash against West Ham overnight.
Ruben Amorim’s side ran out 2-1 winners at the MetLife Stadium in New York thanks to two goals from Bruno Fernandes, before Jarrod Bowen found the net for West Ham.
In what was a strong performance from the Red Devils, the left-back stood out as one of the most impressive performers, as highlights were quickly shared to social media.
Since his arrival in the January transfer window, Dorgu had struggled to impress in Amorim’s side, but a full pre-season may be exactly what he needs to kick on.
Fans are now hopeful he will play a key role for Man United after what has been named an “unbelievable” performance against West Ham.
Ruben Amorim snubs left-back deal amid Dorgu claim
The left-wing-back position had been key for Amorim immediately after his appointment mid-way through last season, leading to Dorgu’s arrival in January.
Amorim is now prepared to put his full faith in the 20-year-old, as he gains more experience and looks more impressive by the game.
Man United had been linked with possible alternatives in his position, as their former chief scout Mick Brown told Football Insider that Pervis Estupinan wants to join United.
However, the former Brighton wing-back who has now joined AC Milan, was not considered as a serious option due to Dorgu’s emergence and Harry Amass‘ development.

Man United forked out £25million to bring Dorgu to Old Trafford in January, and may finally be set to reap the rewards of their significant mid-season outlay.
United fans have previously slammed Dorgu for some inconsistent displays since his arrival, but there are high hopes he will now push on and establish himself as a key player.
The wing-back’s display against West Ham has been a major talking point amongst supporters, who took to social media to label him “unreal” and “amazing”.
