'Useful for when Son is tired' - Tottenham fans react to possible Sanchez availability after Arsenal humiliation
By Harry Sykes
Tottenham fans urged their club to make a move for Alexis Sanchez after Arsenal’s humiliating 3-0 defeat at Crystal Palace on Monday night.
The Gunners’ defeat at Selhurst Park put a huge dent in their bid for a top-four finish and also strengthened Spurs’ chance of finishing above Arsenal for the first time in the Arsene Wenger era.
The performance was also pilloried by critics and fans alike as an abject surrender that demonstrated how far the team has sunk in recent times.
Sanchez is widely regarded as Arsenal’s leading leading and prize asset but he was as ineffective as his colleagues in a horrific away display.
Nevertheless, the Chilean forward is out of contract in the summer of 2018 and reports have suggested that he could quit Emirates Stadium in the forthcoming window.

Spurs supporters, ecstatic at Arsenal’s demise, suggested a bold move to sign Sanchez from their neighbours, with some saying he would be desperate to be at a successful team and others joking that he would be a useful addition to the fringes of Mauricio Pochettino’s squad if the likes of Son Heung-Min needed a breather.
Here is a selection of their messages on Twitter:

At Selhurst Park, Spurs academy product Andros Townsend broke the deadlock with a neat finish after 17 minutes from Wilfried Zaha’s cross and Yohan Cabaye doubled the home side’s advantage with superb finish.
Spurs academy product Townsend then won the penalty for the Palace third, which was converted by Luka Milivojevic.
Sanchez has scored 22 goals and supplied 18 assists in 41 appearances for Arsenal this season, including 18 Premier League goals.
In other Tottenham news, the club have terminated the contract of one of their defenders.
