Van de Beek ‘desperate’ to leave Man United and could join Everton soon – pundit
Paddy Kenny claims Donny van de Beek is desperate to leave Man United in the January transfer window.
The former Leeds stopper, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, tipped the midfielder to join Everton.
Speaking to Dutch outlet Ziggo Sport on September 6 (via The Athletic) Van De Beek’s agent admitted he “opened talks” with Everton chief Marcel Brands in the final days of the 2021 summer window.

However, a deal could not be struck as the midfielder remained at Old Trafford.
He has only made six appearances in all competitions this season but scored in Saturday’s 4-1 loss to Watford.
A club source told this site on 19 November that Van de Beek is one of five stars who could be offloaded in January.
Kenny claims “it makes sense” for Van de Beek to seal a move to Everton in the winter after coming close in the summer.
“Well that makes sense, doesn’t it?” Kenny told Football Insider correspondent Ben Wild.
“Van de Beek hasn’t been getting a game and he’s a young player who will be wanting to play football.
“He’s not getting a game. I’m sure he’s desperate to get out of Man United, I would be.
“He’s a talented boy as well, clubs will want him.
“If you have the chance to go to Everton, where you can get first-team football, why not?
“It sounds like a deal was close so maybe that could be done in January.”

Van de Beek’s goal was the last of the Ole Gunnar Solskjaer era at Manchester United.
Solskjaer was dismissed on Sunday morning with Man United seventh in the table.
