Van de Ven and Vicario react to Bergvall’s ‘great’ Tottenham message to fans
Lucas Bergvall has shared a message to the Tottenham fans following their 1-1 draw with Eintracht Frankfurt in the Europa League quarter-final first-leg.
The home side started in the worst possible fashion, when the highly-rated Hugo Ekitike’s powerful low strike found the bottom corner to put Frankfurt ahead, after just six minutes.
However, as the tension started to build in north London amongst the supporters, Tottenham responded well to going behind with James Maddison and Pedro Porro combining to level the scores.
Following an onslaught by Ange Postecoglou‘s men, which saw Bergvall and Rodrigo Bentancur hit the woodwork, they were unable to find the winner meaning the tie is all to play for in Germany next week.

Bergvall shares positive message to the fans
In a post via Instagram on Friday (11 April), the 19-year-old shared a series of pictures from the match with a caption: “Thank you for the great support, everything to play for next week. See you Sunday first”.
In response to Bergvall and his excellent performance at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, teammate Mikey Moore commented: “Top” alongside a red love heart emoji.
The support did not end there, with Tottenham teammates Guglielmo Vicario, Micky van de Ven and goalscorer Porro also liking the post.
The young midfielders form crucial to Tottenham’s hopes of progressing
Football Insider Verdict
Not for the first time this season, Bergvall has produced a performance that shows maturity beyond his years.
Playing alongside Bentancur and Maddison in an attack minded midfield set-up, the youngster was tasked with not providing the legs, but the awareness to play through him into attack.
This was showcased in the 54th minute when Bergvall received a pass from Son Heung-Min with two Frankfurt players around him.
A quick glance behind him followed by some quick feet allowed Bergvall to beat his markers with ease and drive into the space vacated.
In what can only be described as an audacious effort, Bergvall took two touches to steady himself before unleashing a curling shot, which smashed off the cross bar from around 25-yards out.
It seems with the 19-year-old’s influence in the team growing, Bergvall will once again play an integral role in determining whether Postecoglou’s side reach the semi-finals in Frankfurt next week.
