Van Dijk and De Ligt react to Van de Ven’s Tottenham message

Micky van de Ven had a dedicated message to the Tottenham supporters after they advanced to the Europa League final.

Ange Postecoglou’s side booked their place in the Europa League final with a 2-0 win over Bodo/Glimt, setting up an all-English showdown with Manchester United.

Tottenham went into the second leg with a 3-1 advantage and, despite some early pressure from the Norwegian outfit, it was Dominic Solanke who broke the deadlock just after the hour mark, reacting quickest to Cristian Romero’s flicked header.

Pedro Porro then sealed the result with a fortunate goal as his intended cross found its way into the back of the net.

Van de Ven produced another composed display at the back and shared a determined message with supporters after the full-time whistle, as Tottenham now prepare for a shot at European silverware.

Real Madrid interested in Van de Ven amid Tottenham exit rumours

After the win, Van de Ven shared a message on Instagram with the caption: “Bilbao here we come.”

The post was well-received by fellow Dutch internationals, with Liverpool’s Virgil van Dijk and Manchester United’s Matthijs de Ligt both liking it.

Spurs teammates also showed their support with goalscorer Porro commenting “Mi hermano” while Dominic Solanke added, “Too good.”

Despite the strong camaraderie within the squad, former Manchester United chief scout Mick Brown told Football Insider that Van de Ven would be open to leaving Tottenham this summer if Real Madrid come calling.

The Spanish giants have been closely monitoring the 23-year-old and have sent scouts to track his performances throughout the campaign.

Despite the defender having endured an injury-hit season, his potential and form when fit continue to attract major interest. Football Insider also revealed in February that Liverpool are “very keen” on signing Van de Ven to play alongside Van Dijk at Anfield.

Tottenham eye Dean Huijsen as centre-back reshuffle looms

Despite their progress in the Europa League, Spurs are already preparing for the possibility of defensive changes this summer.

Football Insider revealed that Tottenham have joined the race to sign Bournemouth defender Dean Huijsen ahead of the upcoming transfer window.

With Van de Ven regularly linked with a move away and doubts surrounding Cristian Romero’s long-term future, Huijsen could be seen as a key addition.

However, competition is fierce, as Real Madrid, Liverpool and Chelsea are all interested in the highly-rated Spaniard.
