Van Dijk and Joe Gomez react to Robertson’s message ahead of potential Liverpool exit
Andy Robertson sent a message to Liverpool’s fans after they wrapped up the Premier League title on Sunday.
Anfield was a sea of red as Liverpool took on Tottenham Hotspur in a game they had to win to secure a 20th top-flight crown in front of their home fans, and Arne Slot‘s side did just that in emphatic fashion.
An early Dominic Solanke header threatened to spoil the party on Merseyside, but Luis Diaz’s rapid-fire equaliser came barely four minutes later and by half-time, the Reds had turned things around to lead 3-1.
Alexis Mac Allister and Cody Gakpo’s sublime efforts were added to by a customary second-half strike from the boot of talisman Mohamed Salah, and a Destiny Udogie own goal completed Liverpool’s rout.

Andy Robertson issues Liverpool message amid exit talks
Slot has been praised for his continuation and development of the side left to him by Jurgen Klopp last summer; the majority of whom also played key roles in Liverpool’s behind-closed-doors title lift of 2020.
Robertson has been a constant at left-back for the Reds since his arrival from Hull City back in 2017, but his performances this term have suggested the summer transfer window could see changes at Anfield.
However, Robertson remains a key player in Slot’s side for the here-and-now, and after Liverpool’s title celebrations, the 31-year-old posted on Instagram (28 April) with a message to the Anfield faithful.
Fellow double title-winner Joe Gomez and Liverpool captain Virgil van Dijk both left ‘love heart’ emojis in the comments of the post, which read: “Think we will all remember yesterday for a long long time! Special day with special people – You’ll Never Walk Alone.”
Liverpool transfer plan clear for Andy Robertson
There’s no doubt that Robertson will go down as an Anfield legend and has a claim to be the Premier League‘s best-ever left-back, but it’s also clear that Liverpool fans are ready to see him move on.
Robertson’s potential departure could open the door for Liverpool to sign Milos Kerkez this summer, and the Bournemouth flyer has emerged as the Reds’ top target to succeed the Scot at left-back long-term.
Football Insider revealed last month that Kerkez has told close friends that he “100 per cent” wants to join Liverpool, and expect big-money fees to come Bournemouth’s way as Slot looks to build on an historic debut title.
