Van Dijk reacts to Ibrahima Konate’s ‘big week’ message amid Liverpool exit rumours
Ibrahima Konate could be set to leave Liverpool this summer, and centre-back partner Virgil van Dijk has reacted to the Frenchman’s latest social media post.
Arne Slot’s side wrapped up the Premier League title with four games to spare last season, with Konate featuring in 31 out of the 38 games.
It was the 26-year-old’s best campaign since joining the Reds back in 2021, with the defender being hampered by injuries in his first few years at the club.

However, Liverpool still haven’t tied Konate down to a new contract, with his current deal set to run out in twelve months time.

Konate could leave Liverpool
With a new deal not yet confirmed, Real Madrid are interested in Konate, and are ready to pounce if negotiations take a turn for the worse.
It is unlikely that any progress will be made over the next week though, as the centre back is away on international duty.
France are preparing to take on Spain on Thursday (5 June), in the semi-finals of the UEFA Nations League in Stuttgart.
Konate took to Instagram to post a number of photos of himself arriving at the French camp, with the caption: “Another big week.”
Defensive partner Virgil van Dijk liked the post to show support for his Liverpool teammate.
Liverpool look for Dibling deal
Football Insider Verdict
Liverpool started the transfer window off on the back foot, losing Trent Alexander-Arnold to Real Madrid on a free, although the Reds did end up getting £10million from Los Blancos for allowing the full-back to leave his contract early.
It could get worse for Slot’s side if the Konate contract saga continues to rumble on, with clubs like Madrid sniffing around for a cheap deal.
However in more positive news for the Reds, Football Insider exclusively revealed that Liverpool are interested in Southampton sensation Tyler Dibling, who is in very high demand.
The 19-year-old impressed for the Saints last season, as they were relegated back down to the Championship, finishing bottom of the division.
Liverpool are set to battle with Manchester United, Manchester City and Tottenham to secure the signature of the teenager.
