Van Gaal staring at fourth straight defeat as Stoke blow Manchester United away

By North-west correspondent Alex Stevens
Manchester United are staring at a fourth consecutive defeat after being torn apart by Stoke in the opening half at the Britannia Stadium on Boxing Day.
Goals from Marko Arnautovic and Bojan Krkic put the home side 2-0 up after just 26 minutes of the Premier League clash, which was the scoreline at half-time.
Stoke supporters serenaded under-fire Van Gaal with chants of, ‘you’re getting sacked in the morning’ after Arnautovic’s thunderbolt strike followed Bojan’s opener after 19 minutes.
The Dutchman has admitted he is under pressure to keep his job after successive defeats at the hands of Wolfsburg, Bournemouth and Norwich.
Van Gaal walked out of his pre-match press conference on Wednesday after being questioned about his future.
Stoke were excellent in the opening period as they took advantage of more mediocre play from United, who had dropped captain Wayne Rooney to the substitute’s bench.
