Van Nistelrooy, Postecoglou: Premier League manager sack race update

Ruud van Nistelrooy is the favourite to be the next Premier League manager to lose his job after a dismal run of form at the King Power Stadium.

Speaking on the latest edition of Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast, senior correspondent Pete O’Rourke revealed that their recent run of eight league games without scoring has put the nail in the coffin of their likely relegation.

The Foxes have now dropped 15 points away from safety with just eight games to play and pressure on the boss’ position has reached a new high.

Since his appointment in November, the manager has guided his team to just two league victories from 19 games, across which they have scored 13 and conceded 41.

This comes after industry insider Mick Brown told Football Insider that Van Nistelrooy will be sacked by Leicester and they have already begun eyeing potential replacements.

Sean Dyche and Russell Martin are believed to be on the list of options at the King Power as they prepare for another season in the Championship.

Ange Postecoglou in Premier League sack race at Tottenham

Meanwhile, Tottenham boss Ange Postecoglou is coming under increasing pressure and could follow Van Nistelrooy out of the door before the end of the season.

Former Spurs scout Brown told Football Insider that Postecoglou will be sacked if he fails to lift the Europa League come the end of the season.

Winning the one remaining trophy up for grabs would grant the boss a stay of execution, but if they crash out in Europe and continue to struggle in the league, he will be under pressure.

It has also been suggested the manager’s position may now be untenable after a breakdown in his relationship with the club and the fans.

This comes after Brown told Football Insider that Postecoglou has broken the “golden rule” at Tottenham after recent clashes with the supporters.

Oliver Glasner set for Crystal Palace talks

Another Premier League manager who could move this summer is Crystal Palace’s Oliver Glasner – as he has been linked with the RB Leizpig and Tottenham jobs.

Brown told Football Insider on 11 April that Glasner will hold crunch talks with Palace about his future and whether he will be backed in the transfer window.

The Eagles are keen to ensure the manager remains happy and will sit down at the end of the season to discuss their long-term plans with him at the helm.

This comes after Brown told Football Insider that Glasner would be tempted by RB Leipzig’s offer and the size of the job could prove difficult to turn down.
