Van Nistelrooy sends message to Leicester fans after exit confession reported
Leicester City boss Ruud van Nistelrooy took to social media to send a message to the fans after a report suggested he was unhappy at the club.
According to The Sun, the 48-year-old former Man United striker is unhappy at the club’s lack of activity in the January transfer window and is questioning his position at the club.
Leicester have signed just one player so far this January as they continue to fight against relegation, bringing right-back Woyo Coulibaly in from Parma for a reported fee of £3million.
Speaking in his press conference ahead of their 2-1 Premier League win over Tottenham, the Dutchman shut down any talks of leaving the club.
When asked about his position, Van Nistelrooy said: “I’m focused on getting this team out of the situation, that’s my only concern.
“I’m with the players, working with everyone at Leicester to get the best out of this squad, and in difficult times. In tough times, you need to be strong, show character, work and persist and be committed.
“We are united and committed. That is the spirit and you can see that on the pitch. I can see a team with spirit and fight. If we continue this run will end.”

Two quick-fire second-half goals from Jamie Vardy and Bilal El Khannouss canceled out Richarlison’s opener, taking Leicester out of the relegation zone for the first time in 2025.
Van Nistelrooy, who took over from Steve Cooper in November, had previously managed to win just two of his 10 games across all competitions, one of which was a 6-2 FA Cup triumph over QPR before the win over Spurs.
The Dutch manager took to Instagram to celebrate a crucial win over Ange Postecoglu’s depleted Spurs side, simply saying: “Comeback. Away. Win.”
Leicester have the opportunity to put further distance between themselves and the relegation zone as they prepare for a trip to Everton on Saturday (February 1).
Van Nistelrooy will then travel to Man United for the first time since departing as interim manager back in November for their FA Cup fourth-round tie on February 7th.
