American winger Indiana Vassilev has agreed to join Aston Villa, Football Insider can reveal.
New documents registered with the Football Association show that the Championship giants finalised an agreement to tie down the 17-year-old on 22 February.
Villa sometimes make announcements on their official media channels about their emerging stars, including those at the academy or in the development squad.
But there has been no public confirmation about a deal for Vassilev, who has moved to the Birmingham club from the United States.
Vassilev, who can operate on the right or left flank, initially joined Villa on trial from the IMG academy last October.
He impressed with his performances for Villa’s Under-18s, and has made seven appearances in total for the youth team, but did not pen a contract with the club until last month.
He will hope to come to the attention of manager Steve Bruce if he can deliver consistently productive performances for the club’s age-group sides.
In other Aston Villa transfer news, it has been revealed that a Villa striker has cancelled his accommodation and walked out on Championship club.
