‘Vicario will never start again’ – Tottenham fans shocked by Kinsky v Liverpool
Tottenham fans have already been convinced that Antonin Kinsky will start ahead of Guglielmo Vicario going forward after his first-half performance vs Liverpool.
The 21-year-old joined Spurs from Czech side Slavia Prague in a £12.5 million deal, signing a contract until 2031 [BBC Sport].
He was thrown straight into action as Kinsky was handed his debut against Arne Slot’s side on 8 January, starting ahead of Brandon Austin.
Ange Postecoglou’s team has been dealing with a goalkeeping crisis, with first-choice keeper Guglielmo Vicario sidelined due to injury and Fraser Forster unavailable due to illness.
However, Kinsky rose to the occasion, showcasing his talent and leaving fans excited about his potential.
Tottenham fans are ready for Antonin Kinsky to become first choice goalkeeper
Kinsky was a key player for Slavia Prague, starting all 28 of his games across all competitions this season. He conceded just 18 goals, and kept 14 clean sheets.
His former team were sad to see him go and even commented on Tottenham’s official announcement.
Despite third-choice keeper Austin delivering a Player of the Match performance against Newcastle, it seems that Kinsky has already won over both the fans and the coach.
His display in the first half showed a composed figure at the back, accurate distribution, and calmness on the ball.

These are attributes not typically associated with their keepers at the moment, especially Forster.
His two mistakes against Man United in the Carabao Cup quarter-final almost saw a three-goal lead slip.
Supporters were instantly impressed with their new keeper though, with one saying he was “miles ahead of Vicario with his feet”.
Another agreed, saying, “Vicario can never start again”. Many were also impressed with his distribution, with one saying, “That ball from Kinsky… WOW”.
