Victor Adeboyejo: Turkish club make move to sign Bolton star – sources

Turkish club Goztepe have enquired about signing Bolton striker Victor Adeboyejo before the close of the Turkish transfer window next week, sources have told Football Insider.

Adeboyejo has been a long-term target for Goztepe having tried to sign the Nigerian in the January transfer window.

The 26-year-old has scored one goal in five games across all competitions so far this season, but only one of those games has come as a starter.

Goztepe are testing Bolton’s resolve to keep hold of Adeboyejo as they look to bolster their attacking options before next Friday’s deadline in Turkey.

Adeboyejo was recently ruled out for Bolton’s 3-2 Bristol Street Motors Trophy group game victory at Barrow after injuring his back due to a ‘hefty sneeze’.

The forward has only played 114 minutes for the Lancashire side across five games in all competitions so far this season.

His only goal of the club’s League One campaign so far was a 75th-minute finish from inside the six-yard box to help his side secure a 2-1 win over Leyton Orient.

Göztepe currently sits in sixth place, four points behind leaders Fenerbahçe in the Turkish Süper Lig, with three draws and one win to their name.
