Victor Lindelof could be first of three Man United defenders to go after source’s talks reveal – pundit

Victor Lindelof, Harry Maguire and Raphael Varane could all leave Man United this summer.

Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, former Tottenham and Aston Villa defender Alan Hutton suggested Erik ten Hag may need to ship out players this summer in order to bring in his top targets.

On 19 June, Football Insider revealed that Eintracht Frankfurt remain interested in the 28-year-old as he opens new contract talks with United.

The centre-back is entering the final 12 months of his Old Trafford contract but has begun talks with the club over an extension.

Frankfurt are believed to be waiting in the wings in the event that talks break down and could pounce for his signature.

Lindelof started 14 Premier League games for the Red Devils this season and is facing a similarly limited role in the next campaign

Hutton suggested United need improvements to their defensive line ahead of the 2023-24 campaign.

I think Man United need a little bit of work at the back,” he told Football Insider.

Lindelof and Maguire are maybe going to be moved on. Varane is getting a little bit older now so maybe Ten Hag is having to move out a couple to bring in his top targets.

Man United

I think it is an area that they need to strengthen moving forward if they really want to challenge for that top four and get back to what they once were.

If they can get decent money for him I think it is someone they will probably move on.
