‘Victor Osimhen to Man United claim made after Viktor Gyokeres setback’
Man United have been encouraged to sign Victor Osimhen from Napoli as the Red Devils are set to miss out on Viktor Gyokeres.
The Old Trafford club have been in the race for the Sporting striker, who previously worked under Ruben Amorim in Portugal.
However, Gyokeres favours a move to Arsenal amid interest from Man United, which would hand the Gunners their much-needed goal-scorer.
Meanwhile, Amorim must bolster his own forward options after the North West giants endured a woeful Premier League season last term.

Man United urged to make swoop for ‘magnificent’ Osimhen
After finishing just 15th in the Premier League last season, Man United have been linked with Osimhen, who scored 37 goals on loan with Galatasaray in 2024/25.
The Nigeria was previously Napoli’s talisman, scoring 26 goals in 32 league appearances when the Italian outfit won the Serie A title.
Antonio Conte’s men won the Scudetto once more last term, but Osimhen instead enjoyed a prolific season in Turkiye.
Man United could benefit from a regular goal-scorer such as the 26-year-old as they look to restore former glories.
Speaking live on talkSPORT [19 June], Alan Brazil said: “At one stage he was magnificent at Napoli, wasn’t he?
“Maybe he needs a move to rekindle his enthusiasm and start scoring goals again. He can head the ball.
“Why not? Why wouldn’t you take the chance? 26 is no age.”
Osimhen could be a top signing for Amorim
Football Insider verdict
Missing out on Gyokeres will come as a blow to the Old Trafford outfit, as the Sweden international’s form in Portugal suggests he would have no problems adjusting to life in the Premier League.

Goals | 37 |

However, Amorim still has to sign a significant upgrade on Rasmus Hojlund this summer, after the 22-year-old endured a poor season in front of goal in the top flight.
Even though he has fallen out of favour at Napoli, as alluded to by Brazil, Man United could be able to get the best out of Osimhen, who thrived at Galatasaray.
Having performed well in French Ligue 1 for Lille before joining the Italian giants in 2020, the 26-year-old has proven his ability to acclimatise to new environments and make himself a regular on the scoresheet.
While there is a significant gulf in class between the Turkish Super Lig, where Osimhen played last season, and the Premier League, perhaps his previous Serie A exploits are an indicator that he could also excel at Old Trafford.
