Vinicius Junior to Premier League, Erling Haaland to Real Madrid? Update on stunning double switch

Vinicius Junior is facing an uncertain future at Real Madrid after his explosive comments during El Classico, placing Premier League clubs on alert.

The likes of Liverpool, Man City and Man United have all been linked with moves to sign the 25-year-old should he become available in 2026.

This comes following his withdrawal during Real Madrid‘s 2-1 win against Barcelona, which saw him explode: “I’m going to leave this team”.

Since then, the winger started and was again withdrawn during Real Madrid’s 4-0 win against Valencia, and reports have claimed he no longer feels untouchable at the Bernabeu.

Meanwhile, Real Madrid have been preparing to lose Vinicius Junior, with links to the likes of Man City star Erling Haaland in case they need to find a replacement.

Premier League clubs on alert after Vinicius Junior rant

A number of Premier League clubs are believed to be keeping tabs on Vinicius Junior’s situation after his outburst, with the potential to lure him over to England.

However, as I revealed on the latest edition of Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast, the financial package involved in any deal would mean only certain English clubs would be able to afford to lure him away from Madrid as things stand.

Meanwhile, there has been intense interest from the Saudi Pro League in the Brazil superstar, meaning Premier League clubs will face competition in their pursuits.

Speaking on the Inside Track podcast, I explained: “Yeah, I’m sure if a player like Vinicius Junior became available, you would have all the top clubs across Europe looking to sign him.

“It does seem there is a few tensions between him and Xabi Alonso right now at Real Madrid. As you said, he got that outburst in the El Clásico game last weekend.

“I’m sure clubs in the Saudi Pro League would also love the opportunity to sign Vinicius Junior. The finances won’t be any issue for them.

“If he was to move to the Premier League, it would be a huge financial outlay to try and sign him as well and you’d only have certain clubs in the Premier League who could afford the overall package.

“There is interest from the Saudi Pro League, Premier League and then probably PSG in France as well as another club we would be interested in if he was to ever leave Real Madrid.”

The Brazil winger is believed to be earning around £350,000 per week in Madrid, while his contract is set to run until 2027, meaning any deal would cost a huge fee.

Erling Haaland tipped to replace Vinicius Junior at Real Madrid

With speculation ongoing about Vinicius Junior’s future in Madrid, long-term plans are being put in place to replace him with another superstar should he leave.

Former Everton CEO Keith Wyness told Football Insider on 19 October that Haaland could leave Man City to join Real Madrid at the end of the season, although it is unlikely.

The striker has a contract until 2034, so he would have to push for the move to make it happen, while the finances involved may make any agreement impossible.

This comes after Football Insider revealed on 14 September that Pep Guardiola is “desperate” to keep Haaland at Man City despite growing interest from Europe’s top clubs.

Meanwhile, Haaland is happy at Man City and is not planning to leave, despite the interest from Madrid and fellow Spanish giants Barcelona.
