Virgil van Dijk reacts to Curtis Jones’s 3-word message as Liverpool close on title
Curtis Jones has shared a three-word message on social media after Liverpool’s crucial 2-1 victory over West Ham at Anfield.
In his first game since signing a two-year contract extension, Mohamed Salah provided an excellent assist for Luis Diaz to put Liverpool ahead after a dominant opening 20 minutes.
However, following a slow start to the second-half, Virgil van Dijk and Andy Robertson were involved in an awful mix-up which saw the latter score an own goal with just under five minutes to go.
Liverpool‘s captain atoned for his earlier error, heading home Alexis Mac Allister’s corner moments from full-time, to put Arne Slot’s men two wins away from securing the Premier League title.

In a message from Jones’ official instagram account on Sunday (13 April), the midfielder said: “One step closer!” in which Van Dijk, the match-winner on the day, replied with a red love heart emoji.
The post also attracted some reactions from the likes of Jacob Ramsey, Anthony Gordon and Cody Gakpo.
Arne Slot on the cusp of an excellent first season in England
Football Insider Verdict
It’s now a matter of when, not if, Liverpool wrap up the Premier League title in Slot‘s first season in England.
Despite a lacklustre second-half display, Slot showed a different side to his management as the Reds’ dug deep to come from behind in the closing stages.
The Dutch coach recognised the need to make early substitutions with West Ham coming back into the match, and it was this renewed energy that eventfully got his team over the line.

Slot has shown the adaptability to solidify himself as one of the best managers in the league and does not define Liverpool by his philosophy, but the desire to win.
The result means should Arsenal lose to Ipswich next weekend, that Liverpool can secure the title with victory over Leicester on Sunday (20 April).
